The Sahlan Momo Foundation (SMF) was established and endowed by the artist during his lifetime as a non-profit Private Operating Foundation for cultural philanthropy and awareness stewardship.
Vision & Mission
Momo is a strong believer in awareness as the main driver for creativity and innovation, enhancing the collective intelligence of the community through collaboration across individuals and cultures, as a vehicle of expanding and grounding the new social, cultural, political and economic paradigm.
We are proud to carry forward Momo’s legacy in six major fields of activity:
1) To implement and consolidate the new collective state of consciousness to the benefit of the common greater good;
2) to create, device and further philanthropic initiatives that by connecting awareness, creativity and culture with issues such as education and social change, systemic change, sustainability and the environment, may enhance the attainment of a higher individual and collective state of consciousness;
3) to share information which could assist an awakened development of educators, artists, researchers and scholars in the fields of activity of the Foundation;
4) to document, archive, preserve, conserve, diffuse and promote Momo’s legacy via an online public access to the Collection and the catalogue raisonné of all Momo’s known artworks, and to the repository of his writings;
5) to organise the diffusion of all forms of artistic expressions relating to Momo’s art in all its diversity;
6) to create and execute educational operations, activities, and enterprise to promote Momo’s art.
As the principal beneficiary of Momo’s estate, the Foundation includes an extensive selection of his artworks in a variety of mediums; the original papers and materials pertaining to his life and work; his library; the archive, property, royalties, ephemera and reputations.
The Foundation is committed to supporting Momo’s bequest through a wide range of philanthropic initiatives, including exhibitions and loans of artworks; educational and research projects, conferences, symposia and publications for the creative and scholarly community; prizes and in-residence facilities for the creative industry, grants and programs to explore fundamentals questions about art, identity, and spirituality for a self-sustainable enlighten culture of life.
Currently, besides the ongoing cataloguing & archiving process, the Foundation is implementing Momo’s present project Meeting in the Cave. From Polarisation to Inclusion to raise awareness and funds to the ongoing work of the Foundation in support of the achievement of a higher collective state of conscious awareness.
